Lease Web is a great hosting company that provides high quality services that are very reliable. They are based in the Netherlands, but have data centers in Europe, the US and Asia. They seem to have done a great job building up their reputation for being one of the most reliable hosting companies around. They are dedicated to using top quality hardware for their servers, and keeping everything up to date with the latest technologies.
They offer cloud hosting for most of their customers, but also have VPS and dedicated solutions for those who prefer that. The company really seems to make it a priority to provide their customers with the exact services that they want.
Uptime & Reliability
Extremely Reliable Hosting
The ‘catch phrase’ of this company is ‘reliable hosting’ and they seem to live up to that promise. Oddly, I did not see any type of actual uptime guarantee though. Given their high quality hardware, great data centers, quality tech support and overall reputation, however, this should not be too much of a concern. They will undoubtedly provide you with a very reliable hosting experience.
Quality Hardware & More
The first thing you’ll notice when looking through their site is that they seem to focus on high end hardware. They call them ‘Bare Metal’ servers, which are very reliable and fast. They have the option for SSD drives and are very flexible with the exact features you need.
If you go with a dedicated server, you can customize it with exactly what you need, though they do have a lot of packages to choose from so that may not be necessary. You can also choose where you want your server located, which is a nice perk.
The cloud hosting solutions are all top of the line and are very fast when it comes to loading your page. They are generous with the hardware specs as well.
There are some limitations on things like disk space and bandwidth, but they are high enough that it won’t likely be an issue for most customers. It is something that you should be aware of, however, depending on the type of site you are going to be running.
Great 24/7 Support
This company seems to know that you can’t have truly reliable hosting without great 24/7 tech support. It is not 100% clear where their IT team is located, so that could be a concern for some customers, but there aren’t any complaints that I have found from their customers so it is not likely to be a big problem.
They also have a great self-help section that will provide you with a lot of useful information for keeping your site up and running at all times.
Surprisingly Low Prices
The prices are surprisingly low. That is not to say they are cheap, because they aren’t. When you compare the level of hardware and other features you’re getting with what other companies offer for a similar price, however, you will see that the prices are extremely affordable. That being said, if you don’t need this level of hosting, such as for a personal blog or something, this company may be ‘over kill’.
Very Nice Hosting Option for Anyone
This is a great company to consider no matter where you’re from. They may not be ideal for entry level sites, but beyond that, they will meet and exceed your needs no matter what type of hosting solution you need. They come highly recommended by their users and have a very good reputation.
I rarely leave reviews, but the team from Asia has left me impressed. Was just requesting for a quote, but instead of just taking my order and leaving it at that, they went deeper to understand my objectives and advised me something better and more affordable than what i originally thought was best. and it worked out very well. Super earnest in wanting my business and made me feel very valued as a customer. Have ordered more servers from them and highly recommend the Asia team to serve you. Friends that I have recommended have commented the same thing.
After service is good as well, which i honestly didn't expect at this price. Even if they don't have the answer, they will press their colleagues for an answer and reply me asap. Just that don't expect much help during the weekends as they don't work then.
ghost bills: sytem that will suddenly bill you overdue for old and ( fully paid ) invoices , for example a 247 days overdue bill , this is messy and scary stuff.
hidden costs: after taking a closer look finding out that you are likely paying more then told on their website. ( in this case domain names )
harsh terms: also keep in mind that leaving Leaseweb as provider is not easy. they absolutely -will- make you pay for nothing if that is what it takes to grab your money. You have to read the small print to find out that cancelation take anywhere between 2-16 months. All other providers im working with just apply 1 month prior. no compromise possible. beware.
I have six servers hosted here. Small potatoes, I realize, but nonetheless. I use Leaseweb because their prices are really low and their provisioning API does what I need. But I have to say, their non-technical customer support is horrible. Just now I'm trying to get a new dedicated server set up. In the process, they made what they've described as an "administrative error" which prevents the server from showing up in their Control Panel which, in turn, prevents me from accessing the server in any way. It's been more than a week now, with 14, count 'em, e-mail exchanges trying to get them to respond to me and correct this "administrative error." It's a nightmare. At this point I'm almost pissed off enough that I'll have the motivation necessary to take on the pain and effort of moving my whole operation to another hoster, small potatoes though it may be.
I cancelled the vps in 2018 (i canceled the service due to a lot of downtime) and now - in 2020 - they sent to me an invoice for the next two years. I indicated them i am not their client since 2018. They have been threatening ever since. It seems to be a big scam and so they are trying to make an illegal profit. Maybe someone they threaten will pay them. It is better to host at a company where they will not try to rip off you later! The overall score is 0!
I am a former ServInt customer who was "absorbed" by Leaseweb. I was a little anxious about this, but my fears were allayed recently when I migrated from my old Centos 6 platform to a new Centos 7 server. I hit a few bumps in the road getting moved, but they quickly resolved the issues and I am a happy camper.
Horrible customer support. Their billing system does not work. Spontaneously issued 3 invoices for the same product. Contacted them 6 times, and every time the first reaction is that I have to pay (again!), then they say indeed I don't have to pay, but refuse to cancel their bogus invoices. Then I get a threatening automated notification and the cycle repeats. Also, old hardware. Near-end-of-life, slow SSD's with 100's of terabytes of mileage.
I've had Leaseweb VPS for about 4 years. The only problems that I have had were caused by me, but their support staff is fantastic and has bailed me out each time. They know what they are doing and fix things quickly.
