Lusoaloja is a fairly new hosting company. The company itself started in 2009, but only began offering hosting late in 2012. Despite this short length of time, however, they have done a good job getting up and running. They only offer shared hosting solutions, but that is what most people need anyway so it makes sense that this is where they would have their focus.
The company is run by IT experts who hold a number of professional certifications including the CCNA. They work hard to run their business wisely to ensure they will be there for their customers long into the future.
Uptime & Reliability
Hosting Seems Reliable
They don’t appear to offer any type of uptime guarantee, which is not a good thing. That doesn’t always indicate a problem, however. I wasn’t able to find anyone complaining of excessive downtime, so this is not going to be a major concern. One person had a review that mentioned occasional site loading speed problems. This can be an indication of ‘overselling’ the servers, but not always. With just one comment like this, it is hard to say for sure.
Overall, however, it appears that this company is going to be doing a good job at keeping your site up and stable at all times.
Features
Surprisingly Good Features
The features offered by this company are surprisingly good. For example, the data center is built in a high quality facitily with anti-earthquake Cat. V technology. It also has advanced video surveillance and the entire infra-structure of the data center is on Cisco equipment. They also have fire and water detection, redundant electrical supplies, diesel generators and redundant network connections.
When it comes to the hosting itself, they offer both Windows and Linux hosting options. Each of those choices has a number of different packages to choose from. They do limit the disk space on all packages, but are fairly generous in this area. The bandwidth is limited on lower level packages, but when you get to the upper options the limits come off.
As you go through their list of features, which are clearly laid out in a table on their site, you will see that you have access to everything you need and even some little extras. Of course, since they don’t offer VPS or dedicated hosting, there are some limits on just how big of a site you can host with this company.
Support
24/7 Tech Support
They have 24/7 hosting support to ensure they are there for you when you need them. They seem to reply to tickets quickly and get your problems fixed fast. I was not able to find any real good self help options such as a tech FAQ or anything like that, however, so you may have to rely on their staff for the support you need.
Pricing
Reasonable Pricing
The pricing itself is fair. The one complaint I have about it is that to get the best prices you have to jump through a few hoops. For example, you can save a good percentage off your price by paying annually rather than monthly. This is normal, but still annoying. Then they offer deals each month that can save you even more. Right now, for example, they have a 40% off for life promotion.
Personally, I prefer when companies just give me their price up front and don’t make me take steps to ‘earn’ the best price. I do understand why they do it though, so as long as you’re not worried about this type of thing, the pricing is fair.
Summary
Nice Shared Hosting Option
If you just need a shared hosting, this is a good company to consider. Make sure that your target audience is were they have servers, which is in the US or the UK. Other than that, there isn’t too much you need to worry about with this company.
Pros:
- Privately owned
- Reasonable Pricing
- High quality data centers
Cons:
- Only offering shared hosting
- No uptime guarantee
- Newer company
