TransIP’s website is easy to navigate and get all the hosting related information you need. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to share too much information about the company itself. It appears that they are either a newer hosting company or they have recently redone all their hosting packages and other information, which can certainly be a good thing. Looking for other information it is easy to see that they have a good overall reputation for quality hosting services.
You can choose from shared hosting or VPS solutions, both of which are easy to understand and use. Of course, they also offer domain name registration to make sure you can get your site up and running all from one place. No matter what type of site you are running you will almost certainly have a good overall experience.
Uptime & Reliability
The VPS packages all come with a 99.99% uptime guarantee, which should give you great confidence in ensuring your site is always up and ready for your users. Even the shared hosting is very stable and provides you with good overall services that you can be confident in. Since they use all solid state drives in their VPS servers that can add additional stability. To put it simply, you aren’t likely going to run into any type of trouble in terms of outages if you choose TransIP.
Easy to Understand Hosting Services
Looking through all the hosting services that they offer it is easy to see that they are looking to make it as easy as possible for people to understand. They have four shared hosting packages to choose from and all the main details are laid out in a nice chart. Any technical information that is needed can be found but it is separated so it is easy for non-techie people to understand. You’ll get between 5 and 100 gigs of disk space and unlimited bandwidth with all their hosting packages. They also include antivirus and anti-spam services. If you choose one of the two higher end shared hosting packages you will also get simple backup services.
When you move up to their VPS options you will be able to choose from either the basic or PRO VPS sections. They all use solid state drives, which is a great option because it helps to improve the stability of the hosting as well as the speed. They have plenty of options for operating system, storage and more. You can also choose your own control panel so whether you like cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin you can get what you want. This all adds up to a very good experience no matter what type of virtual private server you are looking for.
Fast & Helpful Technical Support
If you run into any type of issues with your hosting you can get in touch with the tech support teams quite quickly. They are very responsive and can help you to figure out what is wrong without any trouble. If there is an issue with the server itself, they will get it fixed right away. There are also some nice hosting help files and other information that can make it easier for you to understand the hosting services they offer.
Affordable Hosting Solutions
The shared hosting starts at 2 Euro per month and goes up to 10 based on the package you need. The 2 Euro per month, however, is only for email hosting so keep that in mind. The lowest full hosting package is 3 Euro per month, which still isn’t a bad price at all. The VPS solutions are very competitively priced, starting at just 5 Euro per month and going up to 25 for their basic VPS options. If you move up to the pro solutions, you start at 59 and go to 199 Euro per month. You do get much better server specs though, so it is likely worth it in many situations.
Everything is Easy to Use
Browsing through this company’s site is extremely easy. They do have two versions of the site, one in English so make sure you are aware of that so you don’t get stuck using a poor translation. The makers of this hosting page have done a great job at putting all the most important information right up front and then sectioning off the more technical details for those who are interested. The fact that you can choose from any control panel and other services also helps make this a great, user friendly, hosting option.
Great Hosting for Almost Any Type of Site
No matter what type of web site you are looking to run, the chances are this company can help you. They don’t have dedicated servers, but their high end VPS is going to outperform many dedicated solutions anyway. They really seem to be working hard to provide their users with a good overall experience so if you are looking for new hosting, this solution should definitely be on your short list.
Aside from high service quality, the company is very transparent about incidents and outages. They are targeting tech people as their main customers, this means if you are a tech savvy, you will get no-nonsense service and support and you are well understood.
The cms drupal covers about 9% of all websites on the web. TransIp does not support drupal out of the box (ie get 500 errors by default after installation). Ran into it again after updating a website for one of my clients. So backwards! I have contacted the support for this but they are unwilling to change anything. Would not recommend TransIp to anyone. Apparently those problems have existed for very long already (see for example https://www.drupal.org/forum/general/general-discussion/2009-08-21/transip-hosting-drupal-not-supported )
I wanted a blog for my business and got set up with this company on the recommendation of an employee. I have been with them for about six months and am very happy with the service they provide. I was nervous at first because their website doesn't exactly look professional, but I am very glad I went with them. They are located here in the Netherlands, which is ideal for me. They have very friendly service representatives and their hosting is very fast.
I chose this company for their VPS services, and I am very happy with them. They are very fast, and when I needed help getting everything set up, their customer service was really great. I only listed one con because it was required and that was the limited number of hosting options. This really isn't a concern for me though because they had what I wanted. I am very happy with this, and would say they are the best hosting in the Netherlands.
