The idea for Web Hosting UK started back in 2012 to offer affordable web hosting to customers and excellent customer service.
I had been using a few different hosting company’s services before this time and I quickly learned that support just wasn’t good enough or they were slow to respond to any of my support tickets, some of them took several days to get an answer back which was frustrating.
This needed to change so I decided to start a hosting company where customers felt like they were getting the service they had paid for.
How you were able to see the need for hosting services on the market and what drove you to start this business?
London has many data centers but not the affordability side so we thought they would be a market for this.
The drive came from a previous job with long hours and not enough “me” time. Starting
has given me more balance and freedom not just with family and friends but also time for me without the hassle of commuting to work every day as I can work remotely.What were the main challenges that you faced along the way?
Competition is always a challenge as the hosting market is saturated. We will continue to work on the SEO and social media side of our website and keep growing.
What are the main products and services of ?
Our main services customers tend to buy is our DirectAdmin Web Hosting as it includes everything from an easy to use control panel, to our Softaculous installer to quickly install software such as WordPress in a few simple clicks.
We noticed that besides hosting, you are offering website design services. Can you tell us a bit more about this service?
We regularly have new clients that sign up for our service but have little technical knowledge on how to create or design a website.
We thought this would be a great idea to add this extra service so that customers can have a great-looking website and also reliable hosting all included in one place.
Different types of customers are always in need of different types of hosting. Some customers are more familiar with how hosting works, and some don’t have a clue. What is your approach with both types of customers?
We help all customers should they need help setting up such as email or installing their first website.
We also have a knowledge base section for guides on how to do most things or they can get in touch with us and we will help them.
What is your opinion about cryptocurrencies as a payment method for hosting services? Is this is something that you are open to introducing to your customers if the market demands it?
At the moment we haven’t been approached by any of our clients asking if they can pay by any form of cryptocurrency so we have kept things simple by only offering them to pay their invoices by PayPal or card payment.
If we get more of a demand or approach asking if they can start paying their invoice this way we would look into the idea.
What are the top 5 things that is better than the other hosting providers?
Customer service has always been at the top of our game as I know from previous experience generally poor customer service related to the client-finding another hosting solution.
The other 4 in no particular order would be affordability, reliability, ease of use, and a data center that gives you maximum uptime.
What are your plans for the future? Where do you see in the next 10 years?
Good question! We’ll keep expanding whilst offering all of the 5 things mentioned above to keep us on top form and our clients happy.
The rollout of VPS and dedicated servers will be also something we are looking into to expand our services.
