You have been on the market for almost 12 years now. What is the story behind HQWEB?

In the beginning, HQWEB was just a project founded by a student to purpose a true alternative to the hosting market for entities like small associations or personal projects to get a web hosting easily and with a minimal fee.

How has the web hosting industry changed since 2010?

By that time, the industry has evolved to purpose resources (CPU/RAM/IO) more than just Disk Space limit. At HQWEB, we have evolved with this by purposing solutions CloudLinux to keep a safe and shared hosting environment.

What are the main products and services that you are offering?

We are focused on purposing shared web hosting at minimal fees for every starting project or small website. We are going by the time with our clients and if needed, we are advising them to find a new web hosting that fits better their needs if our services are no more relevant. We do that honestly and we don’t aim to host the entire world!

We are interested to learn more about your website building tool. Can you tell us more about it?

Yes, sure, we are purposing this tool to let people that don’t know code create their website easily. This solution is fully plugged with our hosting solution, and when they publish their website, the files are hosted by us. The tool is reposing the well know Weebly editor.

You have been on the market for an extended period. What are the needs of the customers now? How are they different from 2010?

The market has been constantly growing, especially with the covid crisis, and more and more people need an easy solution to be present on the web. That’s why we purpose cPanel and Weebly because we think this is an efficient solution and we have good feedback on the UX of our website, cPanel, and Weebly or WP Toolkit

What is your approach to customers who are not familiar with web hosting?

Sometimes, we go through the order with them and show them quickly how is Weebly’s editor working (they often tell us that finally, it is more or less like Office 😊) and we go with them until the publication of their website. But they do it themselves. We don’t create a website for them.

We noticed that you are operating in France. Are there any other markets that you are present with now?

We are exclusively operating in France, working with a French datacentre and French registrar. So we don’t aim to be international. Our company is registered in Paris.

In your opinion, how important is security to your customers, and how are you handling that part?

We purpose cPanel / CloudLinux, / ClamAV to give a secured environment. Regarding, the WordPress solution, it works with the WP Toolkit from cPanel that purpose advice and one-click securitization process. And most important in the end, we purpose Jetbackup to let customers restore easily any part (mail, SQL, files…) or entire account in a friendly process.

What new features and technology are you planning to introduce in the next period?

Our target is to purpose as soon as it will be possible an email, communication, and collaboration platform (OX APP Suite) with EU-based servers to be logical with our goal is to keep data in the EU. Today we should like the purpose of this platform, but the solution is US-based only at the moment.

Would you like to share anything else with the hosting community?

We are a modest structure, that doesn’t pretend to be the best. We just try to purpose an honest, great, and consistent service with true support and we let our customers share their good experiences with us. We never let down anyone in our 12 years of service.
