I conducted Ping and Traceroute tests on both environments to test these differences.

1. Performance Testing Results Using Check-Host (StackCP)

To better understand Host2Go’s server performance across global locations, I used Check-Host to test ping times from multiple points worldwide.

Here are the results from the StackCP server using Check-Host:

• Latency: The server showed consistently low ping times in Europe, particularly Germany (1.3ms) and France (2.0ms), a great indicator of excellent server response in this region.
• International Performance: In more distant locations, such as Hong Kong (145ms) and Brazil (0.9ms), the latency increased, which is typical for global routing but still maintained reasonable performance.
• Overall: The presence of a CDN clearly helped reduce ping times globally, ensuring faster access times regardless of the user’s location.

Overall, StackCP performs exceptionally well due to the integrated CDN, which helps minimize latency across global locations. Now, I will perform the same tests on the cPanel server to determine how it compares.

2. Performance Testing Results Using Check-Host (cPanel)

Here’s an overview of the performance of the cPanel server based on the Check-Host results:

• Europe: Latency in Europe is excellent, with results like Germany (1.4ms) and France (9.6ms), which is impressive for users close to the server’s location. This ensures quick response times for European users.
• Asia & Middle East: The Hong Kong location experienced significantly higher latency (408ms), which is expected due to the geographical distance. Other locations like Kazakhstan (171ms) and Turkey (52ms) also showed moderate latency.
• Global Variance: Several locations, particularly in India, Russia, and Brazil, returned only Traceroute results without any response from the server. This could be due to network restrictions or routing issues specific to those regions.

What This Means

The server performs exceptionally well for European users with very low latency, but there is an increase in response times for users in Asia and South America.

For global users, using a CDN would help optimize these latency spikes. The absence of data from some locations may indicate regional routing issues that need further investigation or may be resolved by using a CDN like with StackCP.

This comparison suggests that StackCP, with its integrated CDN, provides better global performance, especially for regions outside Europe, while the cPanel server is excellent for users close to the data center in Europe.

Logging in to StackCP was straightforward. From my main dashboard, I just clicked “Login to Control Panel” next to my active StackCP product.
