HostClear focuses exclusively on shared hosting packages and reseller hosting. They are quite affordable and easy to work with, but there is no room to grow to more powerful servers. The company is owned and managed by JustHost, which is owned by Endurance International Group. This complex ownership structure may be a bit of a turn off for some people.
Overall the hosting seems to have a good reputation. There is very little information on their site about things like their data center, which leads me to believe that this is just another portal to purchase hosting from JustHost.
If you are looking for basic entry level hosting and you don’t think you’ll need to upgrade anytime soon, this is not a bad company to work with. Their prices are low and since they are focused only on this one type of hosting they really do a pretty good job with it.
This company doesn’t promote any guaranteed uptime or other items to show that they are reliable. They are part of the JustHost company, and they typically have stable hosting. Looking at user reviews and other sources, there aren’t really any complaints about downtime. From what I can tell, they seem to keep their servers up and running nicely.
This company has their two hosting packages available. One that is tailored for individuals and the other for businesses. This really makes it easy to choose when you are signing up. They include everything you’ll need to host your site in the package so you don’t need to worry about paying extra for premium options in most cases.
They really don’t offer too many extras anyway. They are really just focusing on providing the basics, which is pretty much what many people are looking for. All their hosting is Linux based so if you are a fan of Windows, this is not the right company for you.
The technical support is provided by the team with JustHost. They offer live chat, email and telephone support 24/7/365. They have a good reputation for quick response times and generally being able to fix problems quickly.
They also have some nice how-to guides and other self-help items that are useful, especially for getting started.
Other than reseller services, this company only really has two hosting options. One is for individuals, the other for businesses. Both of them are priced a bit below the industry average for similar services. While these prices aren’t really low enough to really be a key motivator, you can save a bit if you’re planning on using them anyway.
If you are just looking for basic hosting for a simple website, this is not a bad option to consider. There are some limitations, but for many webmasters, they won’t be a problem.
