MeeBox was founded in 2010, and they have been growing fairly quickly since. They are clearly trying to be a ‘hip’ web hosting company that provides good services, while not taking themselves too seriously. On their site they claim that their company consists of “33% innovation, 33% technical wonders, 33% love for hosting and 1% wild ideas.”
While the site layout and design looks very professional, the content is somewhat comical, which seems to match their overall style. While this may come off as a problem for some individuals or businesses considering them as a host, it really shouldn’t be a concern. From what I’ve seen, they provide great hosting services to their growing list of clients.
There are very few complaints about the uptime and reliability for this company. They don’t, however, offer any SLAs or guarantees for either of their shared hosting options. When you choose a cloud server, however, you get a 99.9% uptime guarantee.
Their professional level shared hosting services do limit the number of clients nicely, which helps to ensure a more stable experience too.
When you look through the hosting packages available it seems fairly standard at first glance. They have several entry level shared hosting packages to choose from, which will meet the needs of any smaller scale sites. Then, they have another tab for their professional hosting, which seems to be a VPS option, until you look closer. The fact is, however, that these are still shared hosting packages,
The professional hosting packages are shared, but with fewer customers on each server. This does make them more stable, and faster, but you still don’t have many of the advantages of what a VPS could provide.
If you need higher end hosting, you can go to their cloud servers, which allow you to customize the specifications of the resources that you need. The price is set based on your specific choices, which allow you to get only what you need.
In addition to the features within their normal hosting packages, they offer good reseller options and the ability to buy domains. Some packages come with a free domain as well.
Meebox has a very nice knowledgebase and other self help articles to help ensure you don’t run into any problems. In addition, they have live chat and phone support, but only 12 hours per day. You can use their online help desk to submit tickets, which are monitored 24/7. In most cases, the issues reported through their help desk are addressed right away.
The prices are fairly average for the most part. The professional level pricing seems really low until you realize that you’re not getting a VPS. They do have a lot of options for the cloud servers, so if you just want a low end cloud service you can get one for a great price. Once you start getting into the range of typical servers, however, the price seems to be about average for the industry.
The services available from this company are all quite nice, and if you choose to go with them, you’ll likely have a good overall experience. The fact that there is no VPS is somewhat concerning, but most customers will be able to find a good package that will meet their needs.
