MongoDB, a database platform, has dramatically increased the scope of its current strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

As part of this six-year deal, MongoDB and
have committed to a wide range of initiatives, including integrated go-to-market activities across sales and marketing, developer enablement, and training through joint developer relations activities.Technology integrations and financial incentives are part of the expanded partnership, which will make it easier for joint clients to transition on-premises workloads to MongoDB Atlas on AWS.
This agreement extends MongoDB’s multi-year cooperation with Amazon Web Services, which aims to enhance customer adoption of MongoDB Atlas on Amazon Web Services. In order to improve the user experience, both companies have vowed to collaborate across sales, customer support, solution architecture, marketing, and other areas to make MongoDB Atlas a good experience for developers on AWS globally. This includes more workload migration incentives and better tools to help clients migrate from on-premises data centers to MongoDB Atlas on AWS.
Clients will benefit from new integrated capabilities in serverless computing, AWS Graviton processors, and AWS Outposts, thanks to the collaboration of both companies. Finally, MongoDB’s expansion into other AWS Regions across the world, as well as the US Public Sector, would be aided by FedRAMP approval.
Alan Chhabra, who serves the role of Executive Vice President of Worldwide Partners at MongoDB, had the following to say:
Designed for developers by developers, MongoDB delivers an application data platform that spans multiple geographies, clouds, and deployment types to solve the data challenges of transactional workloads and modern applications. The continued growth and reach of our collaboration with AWS mean that many more customers across a variety of industries will be able to use MongoDB Atlas to power the next generation of applications.

These initiatives build on recent AWS re: Invent announcements, such as a pay-as-you-go MongoDB Atlas service on the AWS Marketplace and enhancements to the AWS Management Console that make it easier for clients to find Atlas. The console will make it easier for customers to browse and purchase products on AWS Marketplace.
Ruba Borno, who serves the role of Vice President Of Worldwide Channels and Alliances at AWS, had the following to say:
MongoDB has been both a customer and trusted AWS Partner for years, using AWS’s broad and deep set of functionalities, proven operational performance, and security to help organizations move their software and data into the cloud faster with a seamless user experience. Running MongoDB Atlas on AWS gives customers a richer application developer experience and helps customers make better use of their data. MongoDB shares a mindset of driving innovation, improving reliability, and ensuring we support customers’ efforts to become more data-driven organizations in the cloud, whether they’re startups or enterprises, working in the private or public sector.
MongoDB takes advantage of AWS’s worldwide reach and range of services to improve the performance of its database service and allow clients to store, access, and construct applications from anywhere on the planet. MongoDB will use the AWS Marketplace as part of this agreement to enable customers to run MongoDB Atlas on AWS and create applications that are highly available, performant at a global scale, highly secure, and compliant with privacy regulations. MongoDB on AWS integrates with a wide range of AWS services to allow clients to examine data using a wide range of analytical methodologies and integrate powerful machine learning and Internet of Things services.
